With a new year comes new catering trends, which ways to surprise guests with food and beverages—be it a new type of cuisine, presentation, or method of serving.
1. Action Stations!! Action stations are placed around the venue guests need to mingle and pick up their food. It also adds a level of entertainment because the food is being cooked right before them.
2. Different Types of Bars. Not just liquor type bars, but food bars. An example would be a smoore's bar for desert, candy bars are fading out (thank goodness!) and things like sushi bars are being added. I always love a good coffee bar toward the end of the wedding - let's the guests get one last jolt before heading home!
3. Creative deserts. It's not just a wedding cake anymore. It's ice cream bars! Why not get a sundae instead of a cake at a hot summer wedding! Or hire an ice cream truck to come and serve the guests! What about serving cotton candy!
Think about ways that your caterer can make things fun and beautiful. A true caterer looks at food as an art and it will show in both their work and the way the food tastes.
