I know I get it all the time…its cheaper to buy linens. Well I am a firm beliver of you get what you pay for. If you want cheap see through polyester linens then go for it. If you want a beautiful elegant looking wedding, then…get ready to pay a little more.
A good wedding planner knows where to get linen rentals QUALITY ONES at prices near purchasing, unless they are speciality linens. This image below is the free linens that you get from almost any venue. Really look at the photo because you should see: 1. that the linens don’t fit the table. They are short and will show the legs of the table. 2. that the chair covers don’t fit and by the end of the night they will be all slid off the chair and on the floor. 3. That it is actually 2 table linens on the table instead of just the one.
Now take a peek at this table. This table has rented linens $14 each in any color that you can imagine. Showing in white so you can see the difference. Also an upgrade on chairs. Chair covers you can buy for about $2 each, rent them for the same or upgrade your chairs from $5 to $8 depending on your area rental company or any specials that may be running.
One last photo for you. These are some brand new speciality linens that are available. They are beautiful in everyway, they of course are more expensive, but you can use them on just the cake table or your cake and sweetheart table to enhance your event.

This food truck trend could be a lot of fun for you and your wedding guests, but it could be a lot of headache for everyone also. The key is to either do it right or don’t do it at all. So her eare some tips:
Food Trucks are not good as your only reception food UNLESS you have a ratio of guests PER TRUCK so the lines and the wait for food won’t be long. Example: Bride had 150 guests and 2 food trucks - the disaster was that dinner took around 3 HOURS! The food trucks couldn’t handle it even on a limited menu.
Food Trucks are great as a late night snack. It is really helpful and suprising for guests to be dancing all night and then see a food tuck for ice cream, donunts or coffee truck pull up! Especially since some of your guests may have left and these are quick and easy for Food Trucks.
Caterers help make things look nice. A good caterer comes with china, flatware, glassware, linens and a little bit of decoration. If you tell them what your wedding theme is they usually have little signs to match your theme so the guests know what food they are eating.
Caterers have great food at the same time serving great food in a timely manner. I know food trucks sometimes have some great food, but when they are overworked the food quality starts to diminish. Caterers are used to working with a lot of people so the first plate tastes the same as the last plate.
Just a tip, if you can’t afford a caterer and you can’t afford to have enough food trucks per your guest count to make it managable and enjoyable for your guests then don’t have a reception. Host a cocktail hour after your wedding and then be whisked off to your honeymoon.
Who says you have to have a reception after? Catch a flight instead!

I get asked a lot what is my favorite wedding. I don’t have a favorite wedding as I love weddings, all weddings, BUT I do have a favorite accomplishment!
See in the photo above that glorius chandlier? This is a photo of Grandover and they don’t have chandliers….we custom built that at 5:30am on the day of the wedding! For this wedding we didn’t use anything from Grandover other than the room. We brought in the white dance floor, chairs, tables table linens, etc.
That chandlier though, is my favorite accomplishment! Check out more photos from the wedding below!
What can we accomplish on your wedding day?
I have worked a lot of weddings sisnce starting my business in 2002 and I can tell you a ton of funny stories of things that have happened before, after and during weddings. Recently I ran into a past couple and we laughed about what happened at their wedding. Here is the story:
“Everything was going perfectly, as a wedding planner I couldn’t have been more proud of myself all of the professionals arrived on time, guests arrived ontime , bridal party starting walking on time, everything was going smooth. Right before the bride was ready to walk down the aisle. A baby started screaming bloody murder. Since there was a videographer working - I slipped over to the mom of the screaming baby and asked her to politely come with me. She didn’t - she handed me the infant and the baby bag. Since I am both a mother and a wedding planner, I put the bag on my shoulder, tucked the baby’s head on my chest under my chin (she stopped crying) and got my bride down the isle without a screaming baby. While the couple was at the altar I changed a baby diaper, made a bottle and was ready by the time the couple were declared “You are now husband and wife”. After the bridal party was sequestered for photos and the guests started leaving the mom came back for her baby. Luckily for her what went through my head was not what came out of my mouth and I gave the infant back and the baby bag. The guests that were around “lucky for me” congratulated me on my tackfulness and really reamed her a new one with her lack of motherly concern for her own baby. “
When I saw this couple - they had a young lady with them - the little infant that I was handed. She is now 15 years old and the couple that got married are her adopted parents. It seems that her mother just wasn’t ready to be a mother and my bride was unable to have children of her own.
Her “from this day forward” earned her more than just a husband but a happy family. I am so incredibly happy for them as all three seemed to be glowing and were smiling from ear to ear.
A wedding note: Not everything that you think is wrong is wrong, sometimes in the moment we forget to look at the good that could come out of it.
