According to the Jamaica Tourist Board, couples can marry as soon as 24 hours after arriving in Jamaica, provided the required marriage paperwork has been completed beforehand. Required documents can include proof of citizenship and certified birth documentation, as well as divorce or death documentation when applicable. Documents that are not in English require additional translation and certification.

Marriage requirements and government procedures can change, so we always recommend confirming the current requirements during the planning process with the appropriate Jamaican authorities and your wedding provider.

That depends less on the two of you and more on who you're inviting.

An adults-only resort can create a romantic, sophisticated wedding-weekend atmosphere, but it may not work if important guests are traveling with children.

Family-friendly resorts make it easier to include children and multigenerational families, but resort size, activities, room locations and wedding venues should still be carefully considered.

The exact structure varies by resort. Your agreement may address room categories, rates, deposits, booking deadlines, minimum room nights, cancellation terms and group benefits or concessions.

This is why we don't treat the room block as an afterthought.

Room-block terms vary substantially by resort and contract, so there isn't one universal Jamaica room-block policy.

This depends on the resort, but booking outside the official wedding room block can sometimes create complications.

Guests may not receive the same group terms or support, and their rooms may not count toward contracted room-night requirements or wedding-group benefits. At some all-inclusive resorts, guests staying elsewhere may also need to purchase a day pass or outside-guest access to attend wedding events, subject to the property's policies and availability.
